European Transport Award for Sustainability goes to Engen-based company allsafe

Engen, 23.11.2021 - The Engen-based company allsafe has been awarded the European Transport Award for Sustainability 2022. The prize is awarded every two years for particularly sustainable products and solutions in various categories. This year, the jury of scientists, experts and journalists chose allsafe's solution called "all:change" as the category winner. With "all:change", the people from Engen have developed an economical process for repairing aluminium load securing devices and keeping them in circulation. "All:change breaks with the prejudice that resource conservation and sustainable management cost extra money: The solution is cheaper for the customer than buying a new one," explains the responsible product manager Matthias König. In view of rising raw material prices and uncertain supply chains, the repair idea from allsafe comes at exactly the right time. Because with all:change, already existing but damaged load securing devices are checked in the plants in Engen and Fürstenwalde, repaired and delivered back to the customer. This requires only about 50 % of the resources and energy that would be needed for the new production of these parts. Overall, allsafe estimates the potential of all:change to be at least 8,000 tonnes of CO2 savings per year.

According to its own information, the company has already been working on this solution for more than five years, and many well-known haulage companies and industrial enterprises put their trust in it shortly after its market launch. "We want to become the pioneer of the circular economy - the award confirms that we are on the right track," Detlef Lohmann, managing partner of allsafe, is pleased to say.

The European Transport Prize for Sustainability is awarded every two years in Munich.
Matthias König, Product Manager at allsafe, accepted the award.
